Hope is the thing with feathers

That perches in the soul,

And sings the tune without the words,

And never stops at all,

 

And sweetest in the gale is heard;

And sore must be the storm

That could abash the little bird

That kept so many warm.

 

I’ve heard it in the chillest land,

And on the strangest sea;

Yet, never, in extremity,

It asked a crumb of me.

 

希望是一只长着羽毛的东西

它栖息在灵魂里,

它唱着没有歌词的曲子,

一刻也停歇不了,

 

狂风中听见最美;

风暴肯定很难过

  1. good translation!! 你喜欢Dickinson? 我以前有个老师也超级喜欢她。我个人在美国诗人中倒是比较喜欢Robert Frost诗中比较大气的感觉,更喜欢英国诗人,尤其是Wordsworth,Burns之类的。嘿嘿

    1. 还好啦,她的诗比较简单。我曾经很喜欢Christina Rossetti ,徐志摩翻译过她的。我是比较偏向情感和精神类的哈~~
